Get answers to common questions about Virgin Relaxer.

When applied by a certified stylist and with a proper consultation, a virgin relaxer can be safe. We assess hair strength, porosity, and scalp condition, then customize formula and timing to minimize damage and protect overall hair health.

Typically you can expect sleekness to last several months depending on new growth, hair care routine, and products used. Touch-ups are usually done every 8 to 12 weeks to address root regrowth and maintain an even, smooth texture.

Relaxers alter the hair's curl pattern but do not change the actual number of follicles. Proper application minimizes breakage; however, overprocessing can weaken strands and create the appearance of reduced density if not professionally performed.

Avoid chemical services and heavy protein treatments for at least two weeks. Bring a list of your hair products, arrive with clean, dry hair, and disclose previous color or treatments so we can plan a safe, effective relaxer application.

Use gentle, sulfate-free shampoos, deep-conditioning treatments, and regular protein-moisture routines. Avoid excessive heat styling for several weeks, protect hair at night, and schedule follow-up trims and conditioning services to keep strands strong and maintain the smooth outcome.

Color and relaxer services can be combined but require careful timing. We typically recommend completing color at least two weeks prior or waiting several weeks after relaxing, depending on the color process, to prevent overprocessing and ensure optimal hair health.
